Do we take tobacco addiction seriously enough?

Toggle

Writer Lynn Cunningham is sharing her story of trying to find the right care and treatments for her addiction to tobacco. She's written about it in The Walrus and talked about it on CBC Radio's Q with Brent Bambury. She also came in to talk to us about what she needs from her care team to manage her addictions and bipolar disorder. We've posted it all on Portico.

What do you think? Do we take tobacco addiction seriously enough? What are the barriers to receiving treatment? And what are the solutions?

If you're wondering why it's so hard to quit smoking, watch these short videos by Dr. Andrew Pipe. He explains the science behind tobacco addiction and talks about the links between tobacco addiction and mental illness. He also talks about how to quit.
