A terminally ill doctor working for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK has launched a campaign to create a more compassionate practice. Dr. Kate Granger was disheartened by staff who didn't even introduce themselves when they came in to talk about her cancer. Her "My name is..." campaign encourages health care providers to at least introduce themselves to their patients as a first step in creating a more caring interaction.
Dr. Granger's campaign has support from more than 400 health care providers and 90 organizations across the UK, Scotland and Wales, and it's growing. You can read more about it in this BBC article.
