High-dose opioid prescriptions on the rise
A new study published in Canadian Family Physician shows that the number of prescriptions for high-dose opioids in Canada is rising dramatically. In 2006, 781 opioid pills or patches were dispensed for every 1,000 people; in 2011, that number rose to 961.
