Police and mental health leaders share experiences

Law enforcement officials, people who live with mental illness and their supporters gathered in Toronto March 24-26, 2014 to discuss ways to help vulnerable people.

More than 300 people from various sectors met for the Balancing Individual Safety, Community Safety and Quality of Life conference.

You can read about the conference in this CBC story. You can also find an executive summary and the conference opening address on the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) website. The MHCC will be posting a full report later this spring.

If you work in law enforcement and want to learn more now, you can read a series of fact sheets created by the Canadian Mental Health Association BC division.
