E-cigarette conversation heating up

With the e-cigarette market expanding at a rate of 10 brands per month, experts are arguing over how to regulate them.

In a survey published this week in the health journal Tobacco Control, researchers found that the number of brands is growing quickly and marketing is changing. Newer brands make fewer references to tobacco and instead emphasize fun flavours.

The World Health Organization (WHO), meanwhile, is receiving advice from two groups of experts. One group is urging strict regulations similar to those for tobacco - here's that CBC story. The other group says e-cigarettes are part of the solution in the fight against smoking and wants the WHO to go easy - here's that CBC story.
