Opiate withdrawal in Ontario newborns jumps 15-fold

A study published in the journal CMAJ Open shows the number of Ontario newborns born with symptoms of opiate withdrawal has risen sharply, indicating that more women are being prescribed painkillers before and during pregnancy.
