The intergenerational trauma of First Nations

In this special to the Globe and Mail, Kevin Berube, director of the Mental Health and Addictions program at the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, describes the intergenerational trauma that has followed residential schools. He explains what it is, how it happens and how it affects behaviours. He also talks about how to break the cycle of trauma.

We've posted a series of videos for professionals where clinicians and therapists talk about trauma-informed care, including care for people who have experienced intergenerational trauma.
