Universal drug plan would save billions: study
A new study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal says a universal drug plan would cost money, but would save even more - as much as 7 billion dollars per year. There are several reasons that would happen - savings on purchases of drugs, encouraging more cost-effective prescribing, and better uptake of medicines, thus reducing the demand on the health care system.
