Women with bipolar disorder more likely to have premature babies
New research shows that women hospitalized for bipolar disorder are almost twice as likely to deliver premature babies than women with no history of mental illness. The study by Women's College Hospital and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) in Toronto compared the health records of women with bipolar disorder and depression to those of the general population.
