Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA)

HEIA is a practical tool for identifying and improving the health equity impacts of your initiatives. The Ontario government developed HEIA for more than just health organizations. If you create policies or deliver services that might have an impact on people’s health, HEIA is for you.

This site shares many resources about HEIA. It can help you learn about the tool, gather advice and evidence for its use, and see how it’s being used in Ontario.

About the site

The Health Equity Office at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), with assistance from EENet, has created this website to support the use of Ontario’s Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA). Here you will find instruction, resources and case studies about HEIA. The site is home to the HEIA Community of Interest, a forum for learning and sharing about the tool.
