Vulnerable and marginalized populations

The internet sources below may be helpful to you in conducting your HEIA. They provide open access data or information on health outcomes in Canada and on specific vulnerable or marginalized groups. Many of these data sets come from Statistics Canada, which also has a wide range of other tabulations.

You will likely also need to identify local information sources for your specific area. Most Municipalities have local Community Profiles or Neighbourhood Maps. In addition, you may may need to consult community and program stakeholders, adopting a broader consideration of evidence beyond routine data collection and traditional research. For more information on gathering evidence for HEIA, see the MOHLTC's HEIA Workbook.
