Summary

There is great interest in reducing health inequities in Canada. However, health organizations vary in their capacity to generate and use reliable and relevant data to inform action and to monitor progress towards achieving a more equitable health system. In October 2018, the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) released Measuring Health Inequalities: A Toolkit. We developed this toolkit to assist analysts and researchers with measuring and reporting on health inequalities with a focus on stratifying health indicators. The toolkit consists of a set of guidelines and resources designed to help you plan your analysis, analyze your data and report your findings.

During this webinar, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about CIHI analysis measuring health inequalities;
  • Become familiar with the toolkit’s guidelines and resources for planning and analyzing heath inequalities;
  • Practice interpreting analytic findings to report on health inequalities;
  • Share your experience with generating or using health inequalities data to inform action on health equity.
