Table 14.1: Recommended structure for CBT sessions
1. Set an agenda, asking patients what they want to cover today. |
2. Ask for feedback on the previous session--what they recall, what was useful, what bothered them, etc. |
3. Check mood using the Beck Depression Invenory II. |
4. Review homework and what was learned, address thoughts interfering with adherence. |
5. Address new issues on agenda. |
6. Ask the patient to summarize the session and collaboratively set new homework. |
7. Request feedback. |
